Member Spotlight: Vineland Lakes High School

Vineland Lakes High School is a tuition-free public middle school and high school serving grades 7-12, through the age of 21*, with a non-traditional approach. Vineland Lakes believes that all students can learn and that every student will succeed. Their high expectations are rooted in their experience helping students from diverse backgrounds find their path to a high school diploma and a brighter future.

They feature open enrollment and two sessions per day – morning and afternoon – providing unique schedule flexibility that empowers high school students to receive a quality education and earn their high school diploma while working, caring for family, or managing other commitments. Their middle school program enriches our students to achieve middle school promotion and obtain high school credit as they transition into high school. This leads them to stay on-track or ahead of their 9th grade cohort.

Once enrolled, the team at Vineland Lakes works with students to create an Individualized Success Plan (ISP)so they can immediately begin courses and start earning credits towards their high school diploma. Courses are computer-based and self-paced with personalized support provided by state-certified teachers.

The program is built around the individual. Every student begins with an assessment that personalizes coursework, remedial assistance, and social support needs. Software-based assessments pinpoint strengths and weaknesses and help teachers individualize instruction. A personalized dashboard monitors progress, and career and graduation coaches work with individuals on their unique plan.

Every student deserves the opportunity to live up to their potential. Vineland Lakes' technology-enabled model is underpinned by responsive, supportive staff and intensive wrap-around social services. Onsite specialists work to remove personal, social, and behavioral barriers while a host of other resources, including free public transportation, support the students' ongoing engagement.

The Vineland Lakes program is thoughtfully designed to satisfy the needs of diverse learners. From enrollment to graduation (and beyond!), their team is here to support each student.
