In January 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Avagail Walker suddenly found herself making the major life transition to owner and operator of a trash and recycling cleaning company. For Walker, much of whose experience fell into the world of hospitals, medical centers, and pharmacies, this was a bold, but unsurprising transition. Walker describers herself as obsessed with cleanliness, and much of her experience in the healthcare field came in sterile processing and decontamination of surgical instruments.
When Walker’s father passed away in October 2020, she recognized a need for the elderly, and those in senior living facilities and nursing homes, to receive safe, clean trash and recycling services. Unable to reach her father in another country, she set her sights on doing something that would make a difference for those here in her own community.
GilNik Trash LLC was born.
GilNik Trash LLC, named for Walker’s father Gilbert and her sister-in-law Nikki, who had also recently passed, is a door-to-door valet cleaning & recycling service. They pride themselves on being a performance–driven, value-based company that serves the elderly, handicapped, and many others.
Valet trash helps to improve retention, controls odor, and aids in pest control, making it an appealing service to both potential tenants and management teams at senior living facilities, nursing homes, apartment complexes, office buildings, and vacation resorts, which are just some of the clients that GilNik Trash serves.
The goal of GilNik Trash is a healthier and cleaner environment for our most vulnerable populations, so they don’t wind up in alarming circumstances like Walker’s dad. GilNik Valet Trash employees also provide an extra set of eyes on your property, for additional security. They realize that in order to succeed as a company, their partners must also succeed, and they maintain the highest level of commitment to achieving this goal. As the crew at GilNik likes to say “We take out the trash so you don’t have to.”
GilNik Trash can provide a free survey and analysis with no obligation to sign a contract. These quotes are available 72 hours or 3 – 4 days after walk-through of the property.
