Member Spotlight: Lazy Dog Restaurant brings handcrafted American food and drinks to Orlando!

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, known for its handcrafted American food and drink, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its first location in the Orlando area. It will be located at 8019 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy and will open its doors in late July.

They are currently looking to hire 200 people as the restaurant prepares for launch. The restaurant is accepting applications for servers, cooks, bartenders, bussers, host/hostesses, and more. They’d love for Chamber members to help get the word out! At Lazy Dog, warm hospitality begins with a positive work environment for the restaurant’s more than 200 teammates. In 2022, Lazy Dog was named a “Great Place to Work” for the fifth year in a row. With opportunities for first time employees, management and culinary positions, Lazy Dog offers quality training and development paths.

Influenced by the lifestyle of the Rocky Mountains where Founder Chris Simms spent time with family growing up, Lazy Dog will offer the perfect environment for a quick weeknight dinner, a meandering meal with old friends or a big night out. It’s open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch with a full bar program that includes unique and approachable specialty cocktails and a wide selection of craft beers. Guests will be able to continue the experience at home by taking advantage of handcrafted TV dinners made in-house and Lazy Dog’s Beer Club, a quarterly membership program that gives members access to small-batch specialty beers, merchandise and in-restaurant benefits.

Young Professionals host a fun Osceola Round-Up with bowling & networking at Andretti Indoor Karting.

The Young Professionals took the reigns for the May Osceola Round-Up and designed a fun evening for participants at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games.

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games offers electric go-kart racing, laser tag, a full arcade, virtual reality, bowling, and more, as well as 10,000 square feet of meeting space, a full service bar, and food options.

For the Young Professionals’ event, attendees enjoyed a few rounds of bowling while networking over drinks and appetizers that included chicken tenders, meatballs, and veggie spring rolls.  All guests were greeted at the door by an Andretti concierge who assisted the group throughout the night with food orders, game resets, and any other questions.

Some bowlers fared better than others throughout the night, but everybody had fun and made connections!

It was a bittersweet night for the Young Professionals board, who said goodbye to 2023 Chair Katie Davis as she leaves for new opportunities in another state, and welcomed incoming Chair Danny Ruiz Manrique, who will now be starting his tenure a bit earlier than expected!

The evening was sponsored by Balfour Beatty Construction and Total Industrial Supplies, Inc., so big thanks to them and to all who attended!  Check out photos from the evening in the gallery below.
